Tomorrow we are heading into Yosemite for a 4 day backpacking trip! We are SUPER stoked but since there won’t be much pizza happenings in the wilderness, I wanted to get everyone caught up on our final stops in San Francisco before we head out.
Day 4: Lunch at Pizzetta 211. All of the pizzerias in San Francisco have made us extremely cognizant of space restrictions and how to get creative with fully utilizing kitchen space, but Pizzetta 211 takes the cake! This place is insanely tiny! Don’t let the “hole in the wall” look of this place fool you though, these guys know how to sling some pie!
We all crowded around a small 4 top table- hey we’re family- and literally devoured the three pizzas placed before us: the summer squash, sungold tomato, chive, & ricotta pie, the San Marzano tomato sauce, mascarpone, wild arugula, & olio verde pie and the farm egg, pancetta, shiitake mushroom, & gruyere pie. Fresh, light and TASTY!!! A perfect lunch pizza!
Desert was a scrumptious house made strawberry shortcake (warmed in the deck oven) with fresh raspberries mixed in. Delicious!
The pizzeria we ate dinner at will remain nameless because, well it was pretty awful. We have nothing nice to say so we will just keep our mouths shut:)
We will have no technology for the next 4 days, so if you need to get in contact with any of us please send an email and we’ll respond to you as soon as we get back in! Wish us luck on our summit of Smith Peak- 7,751 ft. eeek!
